In the short time span since Origin Effects was founded in 2012 by Simon Keats, Origin Effects has become synonymous with uncompromising high-quality studio-grade guitar and bass pedals. Simon Keats initially set out to build a compressor pedal that could reproduce the legendary, impeccable and addictive sound of a pair of Urei 1176 rack studio compressors he was repairing. He succeeded and Origin Effects launched the original Cali76 compressor pedal, which redefined what a pedal format compressor could sound like.

Since then Origin Effects have refined, shrunk and diversified the original Cali76 design, resulting in the current series of compact Cali67 compressors.

Furthermore Origin Effects have launched a series of overdrive pedals, which not only sounds like a real guitar amplifier, but also captures the elusive feel and dynamic response of the very best guitar amplifiers.
